VirWare is an independent game studio made up of Jason Khabra and James Tarquinio, dedicated to bringing good game design principles to mobile, rather than building simple addiction loops.
VirWare was started with an idea late December of 2011 and has grown gradually over time. Initially the goal was to create a mobile game as a project to learn about game development and game publishing with friends. The following year would yield the company’s name and an unpolished product that would eventually come to be known as Crystal Rescue. The inspiration for Crystal Rescue was to create a game we as console and pc gamers would want to play. The original prototype was rough and lacking of all its current polish and depth. But even playing this build we found the game mechanics alone still fun and engaging, and that inspired us to continue digging. All game development and design came from the small team and large amounts of time and effort, but ultimately the polish envisioned was cultivated from artistic contributions over a period of years. We showed the game at MIGS 2016 and got a lot of valuable feedback. We took the next couple months to polish the game and work out all the kinks. We soft launched the game March 10th 2016 at PAX East.
There are far more images available for VirWare, but these are the ones we felt would be most useful to you. If you have specific requests, please do contact us!
